CELEBRITY APPRENTICE 9 EPISODE # 2

SHARE THE MOMENT
Donald met with the teams reviewing the results of the Diner competition. He shared with Team Tenacity that they need to be more competitive. He then presented their next task.

Store Front for Kodak. They were to create, capture and share a Kodak moment. They would be judged on originality, re branding of Kodak and the overall experience. The winning team would win $20,000 for the Project Manager's charity.
Project Managers : SOLID ROCK - Sinbad, TENACITY - Marie.
Donald dismissed them by saying that it is vision vs execution that will yield the winner.
THE WORK BEGINS
Executives from Kodak met with each team and shared some concepts about Kodak philosophy/business and gave products to be used in the Store Front the next day.
They left the teams saying " The real Kodak moment comes when you share"
Each team met for some strategic planning preparing for the event to be held the next day.

SOLID ROCK decided that they would build their Store Front around the statement "Capture the Moment, Now Share It. " As celebrities each would establish a station within the store to pose with customers for picture taking. The team went out into New York City and took random pictures of people and arranged to have a mural made to decorate the walls of the store. Rob helped with the decorations by seeking out and purchasing gold balloons to decorate in Kodak colors. At first it seemed as though confusion reigned since some members of the team felt there was little direction. Bret Michaels became quite frustrated because despite his efforts to find out what he was to do, he was being ignored by Sinbad. He withdrew from the some of the preparation in order to avoid becoming confrontational. Rob and Sinbad would be taking the photo's and customers would be given cards providing them with information as to how to obtain their picture - by going to the Kodak site on the Internet.

TENACITY acted on the suggestion from Cyndi Lauper - "Celebrate the Champion in You". Sharon, who was not feeling well had to go back to her room with hopes that she would be well enough to be present the next day. This put their team down by two since Carol had been "fired" last week. Marie arranged to incorporate her charity, Make A Wish Foundation, into the theme and had children come to the store for photo's which were used as part of the decorations in the store. They planned a red carpet and a boxing ring where customers could stand with their choice of championship belt and have their photo taken. They were printing pictures out- using Kodak equipment(of course). Summer was manning the display table of Kodak products and introduced customers to the products. Despite the originality and organization by the team there were unforeseen problems - electrical power being cut-off numerous times while they were open for business.
Both teams were visited by Kodak executives and shadow customers who gave their reports to Donald Trump so he could prepare for the Board Room Meeting. Their report would include: For SOLID ROCK- They liked the use of celebrities to draw in the crowd and provide for memorable moment pictures, but they did not like the fact that although the Kodak products were on display on a table there was no one to promote them and therefore they felt that their store front was less effective from a business standpoint. They also made note that two of their "shadow customers" did not receive the instruction cards as to how to obtain the photo's that were taken of them. Their visit to TENACITY left them with more positive feelings and they complimented their organization and their use of imagination and were especially happy to see that Summer was doing an excellent job manning the product display.

BOARD ROOM
Donald, Donald Jr. and Ivanka met with both teams and discussed each team's project presentation. Pictures from each team's work was presented so that each team shared what they had done with the other team. Each team was asked about how well they had worked together and what they thought their degree of success was. TENACITY seemed pleased with the work they had done and felt that their day was successful, meeting the goals set for them by Kodak. From the observation reports, TENACITY was declared the winner

SOLID ROCK - there was some difficulty getting started. Bret admitted to losing a little of his focus. Michael felt that he experienced some frustration because of a feeling of not knowing what was going on. There appeared to be a consensus that Sinbad, although having good ideas and an ability to pull it off could only be considered an average leader. Rob was asked why he did not assume the Project Manager position and he replied that although he is an experienced leader that Sinbad had more expertise when it came to technical aspects of photography and all that goes along with it. Sinbad was asked to say who he would bring back into the Board Room for the final decision as to who should be "fired". Rob and Bret were selected to return along with Sinbad.
In the final decision it was Sinbad who was "fired", especially in light of the fact that he was the Project Manager and they had lost.
