AMERICAN IDOL -Here We Go Again

AMERICAN IDOL

Welcome to the new season of American Idol.
On the News Front
*New judge - Ellen Degeneres.
Amid some controversy Ellen has taken a judges chair. She does not profess to be a vocal expert but what she does say about her new role is that she represents the viewing audience and displays the kinder, gentler side of being a judge. She promises to bring a light (comedic) side to the show. In this role she serves two purposes: replaces Paula Abdul's kinder, gentler persona and views the contestants as "we" the average person judges them.
* Changed judge - Simon Cowell is a changed man.
Not only has he declared that he will be leaving American Idol and that he is pursuing production of his hit show (in England) The X FACTOR, but he has declared (at least in private) his love for make-up artist, Mezhgan Hussainy as is identifiable by the bling seen on the fourth finger on the left hand. If I might add: it sings loudly to the tune of $750,000. ALL THE BEST TO YOU, SIMON
On With The Show!

*Following the preseason auditions they narrowed the field to twenty-four semi-finalists. Even that was not without some drama. First a potential candidate leaked to the media that he had been selected as a contestant. One announced semi-finalist was "fired" even before the show started. (As a matter of fact it was immediately upon the announcement of his winning a spot with the twenty-four) It seems there was a question of his being involved in a performance contract which is against the IDOL contract.

* Week 1:

Tuesday:- Female contestants sang; some impressed the audience while others slipped in under the bar.

Wednesday:- . The men did not keep the candle of enthusiasm burning brightly.

Thursday: ... by that time I was becoming "idoled out". The first eliminations.

Eliminated were: Ashley Rodriguez, Janell Wheeler, Tyler Grady and Joe Munoz.

To these four young people I offer: - Take the lemon handed to you and make sweet lemonade.

* * *

Tyler Grady - His pitch-back was somewhat a surprise. I'm not sure exactly what to think about his response to the public opinion. To Tyler: Are you a whiner? Do you not understand that elimination is the name of the game when it comes to IDOL ? Are you unable to accept responsibility for your actions? Get Over It! Consider this Challenge an Opportunity while considering this Challenge an Opportunity.

*Week 2 : Get Ready Get Set GO
